On 6th September, 2025, the venue in Abeokuta came alive with ideas, energy, and youthful brilliance as students gathered for the 2025 Essay & Public Speaking Competition. This year’s theme, “Beyond Academic: Why It Pays to Learn What You Can Do,” challenged participants to think outside the classroom and reflect on the value of practical skills in today’s world.
The competition began weeks earlier with a flood of essay submissions. After a rigorous review process, the top 30 were carefully selected. Their authors earned the opportunity to step onto the big stage and bring their words to life in the public speaking round.
What made the day special wasn’t just the speeches—it was the confidence, passion, and creativity each participant brought to the stage. The audience was treated to thought-provoking stories, fresh perspectives, and inspiring calls to action.

After an engaging and highly competitive event, the judges announced the results:
🥇 1st Place: Emehinola Emmanuel Oluwaseun – Prize: ₦300,000.00
🥈 2nd Place: Lawal Malik Kolawole – Prize: ₦100,000.00
🥉 3rd Place: Michael Adimabua Okolie – Prize: ₦50,000.00
The winners were celebrated for their outstanding ability to capture the theme, connect with the audience, and deliver with confidence.
For many participants, this event was more than a contest—it was an opportunity to discover their voice, build confidence, and inspire their peers. Parents, teachers, and guests cheered as students spoke with clarity and passion, proving once again that the future belongs to those willing to learn, adapt, and lead.

The 2025 edition of the Essay & Public Speaking Competition will be remembered not only for the winners but for every student who took part and shared their ideas. Their courage and creativity are a reminder that education goes beyond grades—it’s about skills, self-discovery, and the confidence to step forward.
As always, we thank our judges, sponsors, and supporters who made the event possible. Together, we continue building a better future.
